82588 are a folk rock band that originally arose from a collaboration between Luka Filipi of Scavenger's Daughter with James Lawrence for the performance of the single "The Key to Existence". Lawrence was to provide rhythm guitar and vocals for the song, while Filipi was to play lead guitar. They were in need of a bass player, however, and Deva Rao (also of Scavenger's Daughter) filled that spot for the performance. The band needed a name for that performance and Rao, a dedicated fan of The Dillinger Escape Plan, suggested "82588" to which the other members agreed. A few months after that performance, James Lawrence and Luka Filipi decided to continue working together, keeping the band's previous name. They are currently working on their first official album entitled "Under the Covers", which is, as the name suggests, an album of different covers and arrangements from different artists.
