Biography
Acaleia is a Post-Hardcore band that formed in October of 2008 by five high school students from the towns of Simsbury and Granby, Connecticut. The members are Karonica Davidson on vocals and keyboard, Chris Carboni on vocals and keyboard, Dan Lagace on drums, Jon Doucette on guitar, and Andrew Morris on bass. Their main influences are Emarosa and Circa Survive along with a number of other hardcore and post-hardcore bands.
Acaleia started as a project intended for the Battle of the Bands at Simsbury High School and the group threw together two covers for the audition in about a week. They did not make it into the competition, but decided to stay together and start writing their own music. The band started playing shows in early 2009 and recorded their first EP in March. It was originally a three song cd, but later three acoustic versions of the songs were added. The cd is sold at shows and through the band directly.
