Biography
日暮愛葉
Tokyo-based Aiha Higurashi started out in New York with her band Seagull Screaming Kiss Her Kiss Her back in 1992. The band were together for 10 years, playing an eclectic, cool, scuzzy guitar sound similar to Jon Spencer Blues Explosion, Pavement, and Sonic Youth and achieved international success touring with bands like Mogwai, Yo La Tengo, and Modest Mouse. Seagull's fan base continues to grow despite the fact that the band has broken up.

Aiha performs in Japanese and English. Something of an art punk, she is sometimes called Japan's PJ Harvey.
In 2011 she started a new band, The Girl, who released their debut album Lost In Wonder in that year, and a second, UR Sensation, in late 2012.
