Biography
Axetasy, hailing from Stuttgart, Germany, was formed in 2020 with influences that belie their young age—namely, the die-hard speed metal, thrash, and black metal sounds of the 1980s. It is no surprise, then, that their furious and relentlessly dark sound remains rooted there: while you're busy checking the calendar year, Axetasy has already dragged you into the deranged depths of morbid ecstasy!
Now, after a debut release and a couple of digital singles, Axetasy storms the gates of hell with their first full-length album, Withering Tides. Following a brief introductory track that sets the atmosphere, Withering Tides gallops into heavy metal heaven with a sound that feels remarkably familiar yet somehow unique—a strange kind of magic, indeed! The four young members of Axetasy quickly prove their worth through a direct assault of speed metal blackened just enough, enriched with tasteful atmospheric melodies and technically demanding passages. This is not your typical black-thrash ride; it is rare to find a modern band that can so confidently recreate the timeless Helloween sound of the Walls of Jericho era. Accordingly, the production on Withering Tides perfectly suits its spirited yet fiery, dark yet not entirely bleak framework—bright and clean where necessary, while retaining enough grit underneath. It's nightmarish chaos, without a doubt, and instantly memorable after a single listen... but Axetasy will surely possess you and make you press “play” 666 times!
