Biography

Bathing Suits are a four-piece electronic noise-rock band from Leeds, England, comprising Freyja Blevins, George Dickinson, Alex Mulholland and Elise Hughes. The group emerged from Leeds’ DIY party scene, where their first rehearsals took place in the basements used for their homemade club nights.

Their sound combines abrasive guitars, distorted electronics, synths and dance rhythms, drawing on noise rock, post-punk and electronic music. Reviewers have compared their sound to Gilla Band, describing it as a “disco version” of the Irish band, while Model/Actriz have also been cited as a point of reference. Their music balances confrontational textures with club-influenced rhythms and theatrical performance.

Bathing Suits released the double single Lousy Havoc / Relay in January 2025. Their subsequent single, I Can Be A Freak, released in August 2025, was built around a sample of Estelle's “Freak”, combined with synths and developed collaboratively by the band. In April 2026, they released their debut EP, KILL Bathing Suits, through Underplay Recordings. Produced by Leeds/Berlin DJ DJ Subaru, the five-track release includes Lousy Havoc, Relay, I Can Be A Freak, Swan Princess and the seven-minute Empathy.
