Biography
Spirits In The Sky is a side project of Billy Corgan, leader of the Smashing Pumpkins. The band features members of the current recording/touring lineup of the Smashing Pumpkins, as well as additional guests, including Dave Navarro. Initially conceived as a tribute to recently deceased friend of Corgan, Sky Saxon, the band performed a short tour of the West coast of the USA in August and September of 2009.
The musical style is largely acoustic and psychedelic rock, and the band played a lot of covers as well as new songs which may or may not be future Smashing Pumpkins tracks. A Song For A Son was carried over from the most recent Smashing Pumpkins tour, along with several new tracks.
