Birth of the Monolith is a Russian sludge/post-black metal band from Kemerovo, formed in 2016. They blend atmospheric black metal with heavy sludge elements, creating dark, ritualistic, and emotionally charged music.
The band emerged from Siberia's underground scene, drawing influences from post-metal, sludge, and black metal. Their sound features heavy, downtuned riffs, atmospheric passages, ritualistic atmospheres, and themes of rituals, darkness, and human condition.
