Biography
Alternative folk singer-songwriters Bonnie "Prince" Billy (moniker of Will Oldham from the U.S. of A.) and broeder Dieleman (moniker of Tonnie Dieleman from the Kingdom of The Netherlands) are kindred spirits. They toured The Netherlands together in 2014-2015 and decided to release a split single, with 'Bonnie' covering a Dieleman tune with a re-worked lyric in English - and 'Tonnie' covering a Billy tune with re-worked lyrics in his native Zealandic dialect.
May 2021 saw the release of a second split single. The approach was different this time. The two sent each other a song title, which the other turned into a song. Bonnie wrote 'Love is the first law' (a line from a poem by Dutch-Zealandic poet Jan Huissoon, 1798-1870), whereas Tonnie wrote 'There are worms in your circle, there are wolves' based on Bonnie's input. Both songs are sung by Bonnie "Prince" Billy, but 'There are worms' may be regarded as the first proper Bonnie "Prince" Billy & broeder Dieleman co-production, with Bonnie singing, Tonnie playing the banjo and Tonnie's band doing the rest.

Broeder Dieleman also created the artwork for the 'Love is the first law' / 'There are wolves in your circle' vinyl single, released by Snowstar Records in May 2021.
