Early life and influences

Braga Circuit was born in Hong Kong, where he lived until the age of four, and grew up in Margate. He was introduced to music through his older brother, who played in bands and exposed him to a wide range of genres, including the Beastie Boys. He began DJing at the age of 17, initially playing house records at drum & bass raves and free parties. Friends of his later organised nights focused on the dubstep and garage sounds of the early to mid 2010s; producers from this circle, including Wen, J-one and Maribor, are among his cited inspirations.

He learned the basics of music production on Logic from the producer DECED around the mid-2010s and has since worked mainly in Ableton, with sampling as a central technique. Fellow Margate producer Leod is another frequent collaborator and sounding board. He has named French house, 90s garage house from Chicago, New York and Detroit, and artists such as Warren Harris, Karizma and Ron Trent as key influences.

Career

Active since around 2016 (his first listed event on Resident Advisor dates from that year), Braga Circuit began to attract wider attention between 2018 and 2020. His first vinyl release was the split EP Sour Edits Vol. 3 with Xxxy (Sour Edits, September 2018), followed in November 2018 by the track "Will Luv You Good" on the various-artists EP PNP 003 (Axe On Wax). His track "Cloudburst" was played on NTS Radio, and his 2020 remix of Ssin's "Love Affair" was released on theBasement Discos. Further remixes followed for Blake Leisurely ("Down For U", Miura Records, 2021), DJ Nervous ("Silence Is Cold", Barbecue) and Kid Only ("Real Luv", GLBDOM Classic, 2022).

Between 2021 and 2023 he contributed tracks to the Happy House compilation series on Happiness Therapy ("Byway", "Semaphore" and "If U"), followed by the label's anniversary release 5 Years of Happiness in November 2023. According to SNC Magazine, his tracks have received support from DJs including Ben UFO and Moxie, and he has released five long-form albums, some self-released and some on labels such as Air Miles, Axe On Wax and Sour Edits.

In 2025 he joined the London label air miles with the Fall EP (May 2025, including a remix by Leod), followed by the single "Break It Down" (November 2025) and the EP Thanks All (February 2026, also released on 12" vinyl). A remix of "Break It Down" by Tom VR appeared in April 2026.

He has also released music on Rinse, beginning with the single "Promises" (April 2026), followed by the four-track Right When I Told You EP (June 2026) and the single "When It Feels Right" (October 2026).
