After her death in August 1989, her family released the memorial album "Brita med venner" (Brita with friends) the year after. This album also contains poems read by Wenche Foss and songs written and performed by Britas sisters.

An unofficial album, "Walleviks beste", was released in 1995. On this album, the song Forglem-meg-ei (Forget-me-not), is erroneously credited as being sung by Brita, but is in fact written and sung by Brita's sisters. The refrain is based upon some of Brita's last words of wisdom: Don't cry, we will both enjoy the spring when we meet again

From her diagnosis with cancer she was an iconical figure in the norwegian cancer cause. She appeared on TV where she talked about how it was to be a child with cancer, and, during an interview (available at YouTube), she laughingly removed her wig and swaped it with another.

Together with her friend, actress Wenche Foss, she started the fund, Pro arte, for the art. This fund gives children with cancer an opportunity to enjoy arts, while recieving treatment at the national cancer hospital, Radiumhospitalet.
