Robert “Buzz” Oxford is a truly exceptional performer! He grabs the audience’s attention, and then never let’s them go. He has been hailed as THE blues voice of Australia. They call him the elder statesman of the blues because he has been performing now for thirty-six years and his show is still as energetic and exciting as it ever was.

Winner of the blues excellence award for 1999 there is no doubt that he owns the hard road he has travelled to become one of the most respected vocalists in Australia today.

When you hear the gravely voice, it commands attention and the music is just as diverse. Most of the songs (apart from some old favourites) were penned by Robert himself. And let’s not forget the music, it gets you moving and it keeps you moving. Robert has worked with some of the worlds finest who helped him arrange the multitude of now classic blues songs.

Buzz always uses the finest musicians and many well-known performers have served their apprenticeships with him. His band changes from time to time because he encourages them to go out and do it for themselves. He nurtures them, he plants the seeds and proudly watches them grow. Be prepared for the very best!

So this is Robert “Buzz” Oxford. He can whip the audience up with his dynamic band or he can have you reaching for the tissues with his soulful and prolific song writing. Either way he is a performer not to be missed. He doesn’t just play for his audience … he connects with them!
