Biography
Cold Communion is an American melodic death/doom metal duo from Durham, North Carolina. Formed by members of established bands, they deliver melancholic, emotional, and heavy doom-infused death metal with strong melodic elements.
The band features Barre Gambling (of Daylight Dies) and Tim Rowland (of Silent Vigil / Hole Dweller / Alchemy of Flesh). Their sound draws from 2000s melodic death/doom pioneers like Daylight Dies, October Tide, and Novembers Doom, while incorporating influences from Paradise Lost, Hypocrisy, and Hooded Menace. It emphasizes crushing riffs, sad melodies, atmospheric passages, and a mix of clean/growled vocals for a gloomy, introspective atmosphere.
