Conflicts between group members saw Jonathan Sharp (of New Mind, Bio-Tek, and others) leave. The remaining members shortened the name to C-Tec and signed to Wax Trax! Records in the U.S.
The conflict continued after Sharp left the band, and he formed Hyperdex-1-Sect with Sevren Ni-Arb from X Marks the Pedwalk. The name was supposed to be a jibe at Cyber-Tec Project: if you said it quickly, they sounded very similar.
