Biography

Daria Barbara Zawiałow (born 18 August 1992) is a Polish singer-songwriter and composer from Koszalin, Poland. She performs primarily within pop, indie pop and pop-rock, and is known for her distinctive vocal style, guitar-driven arrangements and alternative influences. Before establishing herself as a recording artist, she participated in several Polish televised music competitions, including *Od przedszkola do Opola*, *Szansa na sukces*, *Mam talent!* and *X Factor*. She also worked as a backing vocalist for singer Maryla Rodowicz.

Zawiałow achieved her breakthrough in 2016 with the single “Malinowy chruśniak”, which she performed at the Debuts competition during the National Festival of Polish Song in Opole. The song earned her the Anna Jantar Award, commonly known as the Karolinka, and became one of her signature recordings. Her subsequent singles, including “Kundel bury” and “Miłostki”, helped establish her presence on Polish radio. Her debut studio album, *A kysz!*, was released on 3 March 2017 and reached number seven on the Polish album chart, later earning platinum certification.

Her second studio album, *Helsinki*, was released on 8 March 2019 and became her first album to reach number one on the Polish charts. It expanded her musical approach, combining pop-rock songwriting with electronic textures and alternative pop influences. The album's singles included “Szarówka” and “Hej hej!”. A special edition followed in 2020, further consolidating her position among Poland's prominent contemporary pop-rock artists.

In 2021, Zawiałow released her third studio album, *Wojny i noce*, which reached number two on the Polish album chart. That year, she also received the MTV Europe Music Award for Best Polish Act. She subsequently collaborated with Dawid Podsiadło and Vito Bambino on “I Ciebie też, bardzo”, recorded for the 2021 edition of the Polish concert project *Męskie Granie*. The song became one of the project's most successful releases and surpassed 100 million streams on Spotify in January 2026.

Zawiałow's fourth studio album, *Dziewczyna Pop*, was released on 20 October 2023 and marked a major commercial milestone in her career. The album reached number two on the Polish album chart and achieved multi-platinum certification. Its singles included “Fifi Hollywood”, “Złamane serce jest OK” and “Ballada o Niej”. The album earned her the Fryderyk Award for Album of the Year – Pop in 2024, while she also received her second MTV Europe Music Award for Best Polish Act in the same year. The accompanying Trasa 92' tour became her largest concert tour to that point.

In 2025, Zawiałow released further singles, including “Dziwna”, re-recorded as a duet with Polish singer Artur Rojek, and “Tom Yum”, featuring the duo Kacperczyk. She concluded the *Dziewczyna Pop* era with a large-scale concert at the grounds of PGE Narodowy in Warsaw in September 2025, which was described as the largest solo concert of her career. In May of that year, she had announced a planned two-year break from performing, during which she intended to focus on her personal life and work on new material.

In 2026, Zawiałow marked the tenth anniversary of “Malinowy chruśniak” with the limited vinyl release *A Kysz! (Kolekcja singli: Tom 1)*, featuring her early singles “Malinowy chruśniak”, “Kundel bury” and “Miłostki”, alongside new arrangements. Her return to live performance was announced for May 2027, with a series of arena concerts in Wrocław, Warsaw, Kraków and Gdańsk/Sopot. She has received multiple Fryderyk Awards and is regarded as one of the leading artists in contemporary Polish popular music.
