Biography
Formed in Montreal, Quebec, in 2009, Depths of Hatred is a Canadian extreme metal outfit that bridges the gap between technical deathcore and modern melodic heavy metal. Building their foundation on hyper-kinetic blast beats, sweeping dual-guitar riffs, and pure underground aggression, the band turned heads early in their career with crushing releases like Aversionist (2012) and Hellborn (2014).
With the addition of vocalist William Arseneau alongside longtime members Martin Trottier (guitar) and Karl Desjardins (drums), the group signed to Prosthetic Records and underwent a major stylistic evolution. On their third full-length album, Inheritance (2021), Depths of Hatred broadened their technical death-metal roots by weaving in arena-sized clean vocal choruses, structured metalcore dynamics, and intricate melodeath lead passages—solidifying a mature, highly versatile sound within the modern heavy scene.
