Biography
The School of Magical Animals is a children's book series by German author Margit Auer. The series takes place at Winterstein School, a school in Germany . The town is not specified, nor is the age of the schoolchildren. Unlike typical German schools, this one has magical animals. These animals can talk and become a child's best friend. The animals (including a fox , a tortoise , a penguin , and a warthog ) are presented by Mr. Mortimer Morrison, the owner of a magical pet shop. In the main series, one to three animals are presented per book. In the early reader series, polar bear Murphy and magpie Pinkie appear as detectives.
