Biography

El Pony Pisador are five young lads from Barcelona who mix various styles of folk and traditional music from around the world, including Celtic music, sea songs (sea shanties and habaneras), bluegrass, tarantella and yodelling in a jolly manner but with attention to detail. The band's name refers to J.R.R. Tolkien's The Lord of the Rings in The Prancing Pony, called «El Pony Pisador» in the Spanish translation.

Their repertoire includes their own versions and themes. In addition to Catalonia, they have performed in several European countries, the United States, Canada and Australia, among others.

Their sense of humour is contagious: their live shows are varied and unpredictable, as something unexpected happens in every concert between laughs and jokes. They like traditional Celtic music and sea songs and shanties, but sounds from many different places and cultures can be found in their albums and gigs. They get deep into the music they discover, so it is as pleasant to the experts as to people who hear folk music for the first time.

The group's line-up is:

Ramon Anglada — vocals, guitar, accordion

Guillem Codern — vocals, banjo, harmonica, bagpipes, Tuvan throat singing, yodelling

Miquel Pérez — vocals, violin, traditional percussion

Martí Selga — vocals, flutes, bass ukulele, clarinet, bass

Adrià Vila — vocals, mandolin, bodhrán and traditional percussion, yodelling
