Etherea is also the name of a Vancouver, BC, Canada-based “alt nu metal” underground band (formed in 2025). Per the Band’s Website:
“FOR LOVERS OF EVANESCENCE, NIGHTWISH, WITHIN TEMPTATION, AFTER FOREVER, CELLAR DARLING, BLACKBRIAR, ELYSION, LACUNA COIL, HALOCENE
Etherea was born in November rain, founded in Metro Vancouver by vocalist and songwriter Angela Pelletier as both a rebellion and a refuge. With roots tangled in alternative metal, nu-metal, and symphonic rock, Etherea doesn’t just play heavy. They dig deep.
Their sound is a collision of bruised beauty and raw defiance: grinding guitars, cinematic textures, and vocals that whisper, wail, and roar. Etherea sings like a siren on the rocks. Calling from the abyss, luring the broken and the brave to listen, to risk being changed.
They write for the ones who’ve been told they’re too much, for the voices shoved into silence, for the rage that’s learned to sing. Every song is a spell cast against erasure. Feral and unafraid, Etherea crafts sonic cathedrals for the haunted and the healing. Their upcoming debut demo is not just an album; it’s a reckoning, a call you can’t unhear.”
Etherea’s debut single, “ Trapped (Small Steel Box)” was released January 23, 2026.
