Euclid Beach Band
Biography
The Euclid Beach Band consisted of lead vocalists Richard Reising and Pete Hewlett. In 1978, they released "Theres No Surf In Cleveland", which was both a tribute to and a parody of the Beach Boys. Even though it wasnt a hit nationally, it was a very popular regional hit in the Cleveland, OH area. Reising and Hewlett, along with various studio musicians, released their debut album in 1979, with Eric Carmen as producer. The album was out of print until 2002 when Epic Records International in Japan, re-released it as a CD. The CD is only available as an import, and more likely wont see a US domestic release. They did manage one national charted single, "I Need You", written by Carmen, which peaked at #81 on Billboards Hot 100. In 1996, "I Need You" was covered by American R and B trio 3T.
