3. Punk from NYC.

Long Island’s Flesh Prison is a band about candor and intensity. The band was the result of a bit of restructuring after Copsucker, one of their previous incarnations, was put to bed. Michael and Natalie, the band’s guitarist and vocalist, wanted to keep their focus on writing and creating hardcore music. But, according to Michael, they needed a new beginning.

4. Deathcore from Ontario, Canada

If you thought Canada was all maple syrup, politeness, and Trailer Park Boys reruns, FLESH PRISON are here to remind you that the Great White North is also home to some of the most disgustingly heavy deathcore in existence. Their debut single, “No Peace,” premiered last month via Slam Worldwide, and it’s another absolute skull-crusher—like getting hit in the face with a bag of frozen poutine bricks. FLESH PRISON’s debut self-titled EP is dropping on all major platforms Feb. 27 via an independent release. No frills, no trends, just pure, unfiltered deathcore violence straight from the frigid depths of Ontario.
