Biography
Halo Nova (who now produces under the pseudonym Varien ), real name Nikki Kaelar, is an electronic music producer from Tampa, FL. Their styles range from tearout, dubstep, to moombahton and electro. Nikki has been surrounded by music since they were a child, being raised on jazz, metal, and video game music. At the age of 14 they took up playing piano seriously and started learning music theory with a concentration in jazz. In 2006 at 16 they started a musical project called Nexus. The name later was changed to Mantis Genome. It was only at age 18 that Nikki started to produce a lot more music, starting off with ambient music and eventually winding up at dubstep. They also compose soundtracks to video games and films as their main passion.
In early 2009 Nikki started another alias, Shamantis. All kinds of electronic music were produced on the Shamantis alias until June of 2010 when they decided to split up their styles into two aliases, Shamantis for chillout and psybient works, and Halo Nova for dubstep, and related genres. In 2010 Nikki dropped their first EP under Halo Nova, Positron Annihilation. Not even a year into existence, Halo Nova had gained an immense amount of noteriety. Their 2nd EP reached #34 in the Beatport dubstep charts and let the world know how serious they were. So far in 2011 alone, they had made an EP for Ultragore, Betamorph, and Abducted Records. They have also done singles for Play Me, Dub Cartel, and Filthy Digital Recordings. Their music is played out by the likes of Nero, Propa Tingz, Dirty Talk, Antiserum, Helicopter Showdown and more.

The future of Halo Nova looks beyond promising, always trying something new and fresh every song. They are also constantly surprising his fans with viral smash hits like his "Dubstep Orchestral Suite" series and free bangers.
