It Summons the Shadows is a Swedish black/death metal project from Stockholm, formed in 2025 by multi-instrumentalist Marcus Ehlin, known for his work with the Swedish melodic black metal band Siebenbürgen. As a one-man project, Ehlin handles all instruments and vocals.
Drawing from the darkness of both black and death metal, It Summons the Shadows combines crushing riffs, sinister atmospheres, haunting choirs and symphonic elements. The music explores themes of solitude, spiritual ruin, death, nihilism and an inexorable descent into darkness.

The project's debut album, Of Rot of Ruin, was independently released on August 29, 2025, featuring ten tracks and nearly 49 minutes of bleak, atmospheric and uncompromising extreme metal.
