History:
The band JABBERLOOP was formed in Kyoto in February 2004. Originally a five-piece ensemble consisting of DAISUKE (Saxophone), a guitarist, YUKI (Bass), YOHEI (Drums), and SHINSUKE (Turntable), they began performing at clubs and live music venues throughout Kyoto, Osaka, Shiga, and Kobe, incorporating strong hip-hop elements into their music. In October 2004, they released their first maxi-single, “HOCK ME UP,” and held a release concert at Live Spot RAG in Kyoto.
In March 2005, the guitarist left the group, while MAKOTO (Trumpet) and MELTEN (Keyboard) joined the band. With the addition of these members, JABBERLOOP became a six-piece ensemble featuring Saxophone, Trumpet, Keyboard, Bass, Drums, and Turntable, and shifted toward a musical style centered on club jazz. They released their second maxi-single, “RE,” in June 2005 and relocated their base of operations to Tokyo in August of the same year.
In March 2006, they performed alongside Karen Aoki. In May, they embarked on a tour of western Japan, visiting Kyoto, Osaka, Miyazaki, Fukuoka, Oita, and Nagasaki.
