Biography
John Courage resides in Olympia for the moment, but over the course of his short life, he has lived throughout the western United States. With a love for old folk recordings, obscure pop refrences and a group of talented friends, John Courage recently released his newest album, "Murder of Crows". The instrumentation includes concert harp, accordion, upright bass, violin, cello, musical saw and odd ended percussion, and vocal stylings go from operatic to ghostly. Currently preparing for a second tour of the west coast, Courage continues to play in Northern California on a regular basis. In the past he has opened for a vast array acts including Ramblin' Jack Elliot, Commander Cody and His Lost Planet Airmen, The Devil Makes Three, The Shiftless Rounders, and indie darlings The Velvet Teen. Often finding himself and his various backing bands on stage with punk, metal, or hip hop acts, John has learned to adapt like a chameleon. I can change colors. Sometimes he shows up alone, other times he has a rag tag band, but either way you are promised a spectacle.
