The name of band comes from the secret slang (argot) used in closed fraternities of blind hurdy-gurdy and kobza players: "joryj" [yoryy] -- means "respectable", "honourable", and "kłoc" (pronounced as [klotz] so [klyotz]) -- meaning "piece", "hunk", "chunk", or "old man", "elder". Unfortunately, the exact interpretation of the word today is already lost...
So, in modern language, the word-combination "Joryj Kłoc" can be interpreted as a "respectable, honorable man" or "cool peppers", "big nob" or simply -- "V.I.P".
