Biography
Part Emily Dickinson and part Kris Kristofferson, Lisa DeRosia’s lyrics and rare voice are wrapped in arrangements flavored with bits of Burt Bacharach’s ’70s orchestral pop, Tammy Wynette’s classic country and the Beatles’ Revolver-era rock. The Daily Herald called Lush Budgett’s latest CD, Yesterday is Gone, one of the 10 best Chicago releases of the year. A sweet convocation of vintage country-inspired melodies and alt. rock brooding…lonely and love-struck lyrics… sung with a soothing, hushed twang…and a dash of Beatles-esque pop melancholy.”
