Biography:

Known for their technically demanding musicianship, twin guitar harmonies, fast-paced songwriting, and a classic heavy metal sound blended with modern power metal influences, the all-female group has established itself as one of Japan’s most internationally recognized metal acts.

The original lineup consisted of Asami (vocals), Midori (guitar), Miyako (guitar/keyboards), Miho (bass), and Haruna (drums). Drawing inspiration from traditional heavy metal, speed metal, hard rock, and European power metal, the band quickly developed a distinctive style marked by soaring vocals, virtuosic guitar work, and energetic live performances.

LOVEBITES made their live debut on November 18, 2016, at Shibuya Tsutaya O-West in Tokyo. Shortly afterward, on May 24, 2017, they released their debut mini-album, "THE LOVEBITES EP", featuring four tracks that introduced their melodic yet aggressive sound. The release was supported by the music video for "Don't Bite The Dust", helping the band gain attention both in Japan and overseas.

Later in 2017, LOVEBITES announced their first full-length studio album, "AWAKENING FROM THE ABYSS", released on October 25. Produced by Finnish producer Mikko Karmila and mastered by renowned engineer Mika Jussila at Finnvox Studios, the album showcased the band's ambition and international outlook. Prior to the release, the promotional music video for "Shadowmaker" premiered on YouTube on September 22, generating excitement among fans worldwide. The album received strong reviews from critics and positioned LOVEBITES as a rising force in the global metal scene.

The band's rapid ascent continued in 2018 with the release of their second album, "CLOCKWORK IMMORTALITY", which further expanded their melodic power metal approach while demonstrating increased compositional maturity. That same year, LOVEBITES earned the Metal Hammer Golden Gods Award for Best New Band, a major international recognition that highlighted their growing reputation outside Japan.

In 2020, LOVEBITES released their third studio album, "ELECTRIC PENTAGRAM", an ambitious record featuring faster tempos, elaborate arrangements, and a stronger emphasis on classic heavy metal influences. The album strengthened their position among modern power metal audiences worldwide.

A major turning point came in 2021 when bassist Miho departed from the band. LOVEBITES temporarily entered a period of reduced activity while searching for a new member. In 2022, after holding auditions, the band announced Fami as their new bassist. Already well known for her exceptional bass technique and online performances, Fami brought fresh energy to the group and marked the beginning of a new chapter for LOVEBITES.

To celebrate their return, LOVEBITES held two comeback concerts titled "WE ARE THE RESURRECTION" in Tokyo in 2023. The performances symbolized the rebirth of the band with their renewed lineup. The shows were later documented in the live Blu-ray/DVD release "KNOCKIN' AT HEAVEN'S GATE – LIVE IN TOKYO 2023", featuring footage from the first night of the comeback concerts.

Also in 2023, LOVEBITES released their fourth studio album, "JUDGEMENT DAY", the first full-length recording featuring Fami on bass. The album combined blistering speed, melodic grandeur, and refined musicianship, reaffirming the band's commitment to uncompromising heavy metal. Songs such as "Judgement Day", "Stand and Deliver (Shoot 'em Down)", and "The Spirit Lives On" highlighted the chemistry of the revitalized lineup.

Over the years, LOVEBITES has built a dedicated international following through worldwide tours, festival appearances, and releases that pay homage to the traditions of classic heavy metal while maintaining a modern identity. With their trademark white stage outfits, precision playing, and relentless energy, the band continues to stand out as one of the leading names in contemporary Japanese metal.
