Biography

Margaret Spread are a local Tasmanian (Australia) band. The band formed in October of 2005 as a three-piece after long time Pearl Jam fan Adam Davison started getting reasonable at playing drums and thought it would be fun to start a tribute band with newly appointed Pearl Jam fans Brendan (lead guitar) and James (vocals). The band had a few practices and ripped out the Pearl Jam classic, "Alive," every now and then, but weren't really going anywhere...until they ran into Edward Peck who runs Pecky records (www.myspace.com/peckyrecords) and signed a record deal with him and still exists to this day.

...Until 2006 when the band were asked to perform at a battle of the bands concert at the City Hall. The group decided a bass player was a must for the show, and as James and Brendan were already playing in another band called "The Grouse" with bassist Joe Berry, they asked him to join.
