Biography
The album Anætomy is Marijke Florien's personal abstract journey through the human body. It consists of nine songs which each represent a certain idea, emotion, philosophy associated with a body part. With this album she wants to invite the listener to reconnect with his or her own body and mind:
"I think this is something we’ve all struggled with the past two years. The topics that I touch upon are personal and individual, but also address our society. From anxiety and restlessness to femininity, insomnia to depression, injustice to self-expression. I explore the duality that often resides within us. It’s a journey through joy and pain with the destination of hopefully finding some peace within yourself. "
