Biography
Marlon Nigro began his writing music in 2009 as a classically trained artist, writing for piano as well as string quartets. After grasping the concept relatively quickly, Marlon applied and was accepted to the Bard College Summer Program for Conductors and Composers for 2 consecutive years (2009 & 2010) as the youngest composer to ever join the program at age 17. In 2011, Marlon began attending Nassau Community College as a Music Major and drew attention to his music by performing recitals and small concerts of his own music for his fellow students and teachers. Also around that time, Marlon got an unexpected connection with Ethan Allen furniture and wrote commercial music for them for 2 years (2011-2013). In early 2012, Marlon decided he wanted to learn how to write EDM and did so by starting out using GarageBand. When he showed his friends what he had written, they saw he had potential and recommended that he get Ableton Live and to continue to write EDM. He decided he would pursue a career as an EDM artist and gave himself the name “Martron” (based off the combination of the word electronic and his name). Martron took on Ableton Live and over time put several pieces up on Soundcloud, which caught the eye of the head of a small label called Alchemy International. Alchemy was quick to sign Martron in October of 2013 and is continuing to learn and grow as an artist.
