Biography
A singer-songwriter with a strong passion for creating songs and singing sea shanties at the top of my lungs when no one else is listening.
Mary Win was born in Bangkok, Thailand in 1989 during the time her Burmese parents were fleeing the military dictatorship in neighboring Myanmar (formerly Burma). Shortly after the birth, the family immigrated to the U.S.A., settling in Seattle, Washington. For Mary, the rainy gray city of Seattle is the place I lovingly call home.

Throughout the school years Mary studied music and played the clarinet. Needing to claim a voice of her own the girl started playing the guitar at the age of fourteen. The young talent wrote her first real song (Linger) around the time she was fifteen, after first real heartbreak.
A year later, she had compiled a sizable collection of original songs and felt the desire to share them. Then started attending some of the local open-mics. These experiences proved to be very positive and the young lady became determined to keep going. Shortly after turning seventeen, Mary booked and performed her first solo show and have not slowed down. During this time Mary Win have released two EPs and am currently working towards recording her first full-length CD.
