"Three parts man, One part man, Six parts hair.".
After the leak of his infamous "GCSE" demos, several UK tours and a leg of shows in Finland with Manowar, Matthew Hobbs released his critically acclaimed, debut effort "Shades". Jam-packed with drum fills, epic synths and outstanding lyrics, "Shades" is likely to cause a fuss across the globe.
During a recent interview with The Guardian in August 2007, Hobbs stated that he had already started work on several new masterpieces. Fans have already heard a new track at his one-off show supporting Oasis at Sim's house. Titles of new tracks include "Oh Well", "Awful" and "Good Time, For a Change". Many of these will be collaborated into an CD album and a split 7" with Bright Eyes. Conor Oberst was not able to be reached on this matter. The release date of his second, currently untitled album is to be announced. Several ideas for the title, however, have been concieved. From a conference in The Common Room, on the 13th November, 2007, it has emerged that Matthew is keen on naming his new album on either one of the following concepts.
"Religion is Ignorance"
or
"Frames" although Oceansize were about to file suit but after Matthew Hobbs played "Change is the only Constant" in the court room they were immediatly taken ouside and raped blind through their third (and in the case of Mike Vennart-fouth) eye
A poll is on the official website (http://matthewhobbsmusic.org.nz) regarding these album titles, and your input would be very much appreciated.
Much speculation has arisen to the second title of the two. When questioned, Hobbs replied "Open your mind!" in an endearing fashion.
A music video is also in the pipes. Should the album be called "Frames", it is commonly believed, due to press leakage, that this video will be very minimalistic; in fact, it will only contain two "Frames". Popular opinion is, on this matter, that Hobbs is trying to portray a message of freedom fighting; rebelling against a common enemy.
Wherever Matthew decides to go with this new album it is definitely going to shake up not only the music world, but the science world, as he is working with Mr. Marshall and Mrs. Harrison creating a new method of digital storage for music, which is revolutionising the music industry all across the globe.
