Meindert Talma
Biography
Meindert Talma (born 2 November 1968 in Surhuisterveen, The Netherlands) is a Dutch songwriter, singer, keyboardist and author, who has recorded indie rock songs in three different languages: Dutch, English and (his mothertongue) Frisian. A born Frisian, Talma lived in the northern Dutch town of Groningen for many years, before settling in the village of Noordhorn.
In total, Talma released twenty studio albums as of April 2026. Some of his early albums were recorded with his backing band The Ne####s, but this joking band name has been deleted from his catalogue for obvious reasons. Additionally, some of Talma's projects were collaborations with bands/artists such as De Rode Kaarten, The Melisma Saxophone Quartet, Tryntsje Nauta and De Jonge Boschfazant.

Many of these albums are accompanied by a work of art. For instance, Dammen met Oma Hajo and Kriebelvisje are also book titles: collections of short stories written by Talma, as companions to the respective albums.
Tamango is also a film: the album of Talma songs is essentially the soundtrack (film and album were released as a CD/DVD package). De Zee Roept is a CD/photobook package by Meindert Talma (music) and Tryntsje Nauta (photography).
Kelderkoorts, Je Denkt Dat Het Komt and Gezinsverbijstering are also the titles of three autobiographical novels, parts 1, 2 and 3 of Talma's autobiographical memoir ('Nederlandse Onbekendste Popster', or 'The Netherlands' Least Known Pop Star').
The football/soccer Balsturig is accompanied by a booklet of articles by Talma himself and illustrations by Edd.
