Biography

Meindert Talma (born Surhuisterveen, The Netherlands, 02 November 1968) is a Dutch writer, keyboardist and singer-songwriter, who has recorded songs with lyrics in three different languages: Dutch, English and (his mothertongue) Frisian. He is Frisian-born, but lives and works in the Dutch town of Groningen.

Talma recorded his eleventh studio album, 2015's Werkman, with The Melisma Saxophone Quartet, an ambitious, Amsterdam-based ensemble founded in 2009. The quartet performs throughout Europe and around the world. Four nationalities (Swiss, Danish, Spanish and Dutch) come together in the quartet and create their own musical language.
