Biography
Mekanik is a Turkish thrash metal band formed by bassist Caner Öner, rhythm guitarist and vocalist Cem Ceyhan in 2011. Erhan Ballıeker later joined as the drummer and Barış Dai as the lead guitarist. Shortly after then, Ahmet Akyüz took the place of Barış. With this lineup, they released their debut album Kitlesel Depresyon in 2012. 2 years after the release of Kitlesel Depresyon, they released their second album Diktatör without a lineup change in 2014. Shortly after the release of Diktatör, Erhan, Cem and Ahmet left the band. Caner found new members for Mekanik and took over the vocals. Mekanik participated in two compilation albums in 2015, returning with a more heavy metal/hard rock influenced musical style and playing. They released "Belki Tekrar Dönerim" in Rockname and "Babaanne" in Kaset Zamanları, both being compilation albums. Two years after releasing their new songs, Mekanik released their final EP, S.O.N in 2017. Two years after the release of S.O.N, bassist and vocalist Caner announced their newest song Oyun Bitti, stating that it would be released in 2020, as the heaviest Mekanik song. But Oyun Bitti was never released, the band has not shown any activity onwards.
