Hello. I'm Lucas Dorward from Oxnard, CA. I'm just your average joe who happens to know a little about music and design. I am on a continuous journey to find out what is possible through my unique vocal musicianship. I've never excelled in playing any certain instrument properly or reading music, so the thought of myself having a handful of recorded songs to share with you is a rather strange thing for me to think about. The songs above are the product of the music in my head expressed in the only way I know how, which is vocally. Every single part of these songs are my voice or hands making a variety of tones and sounds. With the exception of "Silence" which is me on piano, which I'm sure sounds very elementary to some. I've developed a rather unique sound with influences like Miss Lilly, Ulrich Schnauss, Dusty Brown, Modeselektor, and Tycho. I have had the privilage of being accompanied, vocally, by my good friend Shelby Sorkness who has been blessed with amazing musical talent. You can hear her beautiful voice on both "Irish Melody" and "Hallelujah, Emmanuel". I also have been given inspiration by the poetry of my good friend Michael Paul. The songs dedicated to him and his work are "Never Change", "Time", and "The Longest Drive". I've slowly gathered interest in phography and graphic design over the years. The link below that reads "bench" will take you to my design site here on virb.com. It has an archive of designs, photography, and images which are the product of too much time on my hands and a desire to spice up some of the moments I've captured over the years. I also do design work for a handful of clients as well. Thanks to all who have been uplifting in my creative endeavors. There is much more to com
