Biography

In mid-70s Cleveland, singer-songwriter and current radio DJ Michael Stanley formed the heartland rock group Michael Stanley Band. The band recorded albums through the late 70s and early 80s while touring constantly across the American Midwest. After the group folded, Stanley has since worked as a solo artist. His highest charting singles with the Michael Stanley Band were "He Cant Love You" (a #33 hit) in 1980 and "My Town" in 1983 (a #39 hit), which both got decent nationwide airplay. Tune "Lover" is also a fan favorite.

In fact, "He Cant Love You" was the 45th song ever played on MTV. Also notable for having two prominent vocalists in the group, the Michael Stanley Band was such a huge sensation in its home area that it still holds attendance records at Clevelands Blossom Music Center. They still have a special place in the hearts of many Ohioans after many years.
