History:

Formed in November 2025 and based in Tokyo, micoto is a band comprising four members who are university students and were born between 2005 and 2007. Drawing musical inspiration from Midwest Emo and post-rock, they craft a unique sonic world defined by atmospheric guitar phrases and a rock-solid rhythm section.

Beautiful arpeggios that resonate with the inner struggles of the heart. Intense, roaring walls of sound that seem to transform the world. A post-rock sound of extreme dramatic intensity.

Following their formation, they have been energetically active—primarily performing at live music venues across Tokyo.

On May 13th 2026 they released their 1st EP "Halcyon". Kensei Ogata—who has worked with the band 雪国 (Yukiguni) —served as the engineer for this release. Members of cephalo and 雪国 (Yukiguni) have also contributed comments.

The digital release of this work is supported by "FRIENDSHIP", a digital distribution and promotion service provided by HIP LAND MUSIC. The physical version was released by HOLIDAY!RECORDS on May 7 and sold out.

A pre-release party held at Shimokitazawa Rinky Dink Studio to celebrate the EP sold out completely. With attention growing in the live music scene, they have finally released their debut work.

Their work is said to incorporate emotions gleaned from nature and people in their daily lives. Right from the opening track, "Komorebi" (Sunlight Filtering Through Trees) of their first EP the song begins by depicting a natural landscape.

Across other tracks, too, the recurring imagery of stars, the moon, and the sky leaves a strong impression.
