Where do I begin?

I begin and begin and begin

Yet I can only remember so far.

And before then?

I am still searching

For evidence that there is anything

Outside of this mind.

If it's in the air

You better believe

You are going to breathe it baby.

I spent ninety hours in the mirror last week

And can only conclude

That I have been every man, minotaur and beast

To walk this land since before time was kept.

Hell frozen and thawed and frozen and thawed

I wake and scream from my window

I was better off before I knew God.

Yet the glass laughs back

Shining fish-eyed lense I see

Through the microscope I thought divine

Leaving me blank, to stare, to wonder why

I am not up to date on this new translation.

I leapt and jumped

Got as high and far out as I could

From the Great Universal

I traveled north and west to see you

Elegant and steaming

And I have now returned to you today

With the great reversal

Where I is mine and you do not exist without me.

Clouding my judgment with your harsh smoke

Filling my reality with thoughts of the infinite

as alpha shifts to theta

And I can finally know the real

Me, us and they.

I rub my eyes until the image is burned in

Self contained

Self preserved

Self divine

At least parallel to the holy order.

But who am I to blame

that I have not solved the riddle of time travel?

And though I can destroy the present

with one word and one strum

Life is still full of possibility

and inconvenience.

I wonder if perhaps this is the punch line

of the entire trip.

I laugh and laugh to myself

Until I buckle with intense rib splitting pain

Splitting my hemispheres into maybe

And not quite definite

But still assured that

This is going to last forever

Or at least until all of my lessons have been learned.
