Misotheist

Biography

Misotheist is a Norwegian black metal band from Trondheim, active since around 2018. They specialize in raw, orthodox, and dissonant black metal with a focus on misanthropy, Satanism, blasphemy, and darkness.

The band keeps a deliberately low public profile, with minimal interviews and no emphasis on individual identities beyond the music. Their sound draws from classic Norwegian black metal traditions while incorporating dissonant and atmospheric elements reminiscent of Deathspell Omega, alongside the cold aggression of acts like Havukruunu. Tracks are often long and immersive, building ritualistic intensity through razor-sharp riffs, harsh vocals, and a sense of unrelenting hatred. They are closely associated with the label Terratur Possessions.
