The band was formed by singer Pim Smits and guitarist Stefanie Geerts.
Later on, Bassplayer Gertjan Brouns joined the band together with Kevin Broekmans, and in this order they continued to rehearse for 2 years, after which drummer Pieter-Jan Schalley joined the band.
Later on, in Octobre 2009 Bassplayer Gertjan Brouns left the band, and was since then replaced with Pascal Steensels.
At this time, they also recorded their first album : "Reïncarnation", because at this point they felt reborn and had the will to continue in their musical career. In May 2010 Pascal Steensels left due to personal reasons.
After a long search, they finally found guitarist Roy Feyen, and Bassplayer Sander Hilven in February 2011.
Since there were a lot of difficulties in the band, they decided Roy Feyen had to leave the band.
MUSICAL STYLE AND INFLUENCE
As Misstake's primary songwriter and lyricist, vocalist Pim Smits heads the direction of Misstake's sound. Smits was influenced at a young age by metal bands such as Slayer, Opeth, Led Zeppelin, and most importantly Exterminator.
Vocally, Smits shifts between death metal vocals for heavy sections, and clean, sometimes whispered vocals over acoustic passages. While his death growls were dominant on early releases, later efforts incorporate more clean vocals.
