Before original songs, Murtaza spent years singing to himself in his room, especially Shafqat Amanat Ali. In 2017, he picked up the guitar after a friend introduced him to Metallica, and that became the starting point of him taking music seriously.
In 2018, he moved to the UK for university and began making original music with friends. In 2020, they formed a band called “Kohraam” and released their first song, “Aata Nahi”, in December 2020. He completed his law degree in 2021 and moved back to Pakistan. Instead of pursuing a legal career, he chose music and took a leap of faith. He describes the struggle as real and difficult, but says his ambition was relentless and he needed to make it work.
