Nekrodawn
Biography
Nekrodawn is a Swedish death metal band from Dalarna, formed in 2022 by musicians with deep roots in the country's extreme metal underground, including members and former members of Centinex, The Crown and Grave. The lineup consists of Jonas Kjellgren on vocals and guitar, Mika Lagrén on guitar, Johan Jansson on bass and backing vocals, and Henrik Axelsson on drums.
Nekrodawn play uncompromising Swedish death metal built around crushing guitar riffs, powerful drumming, filthy aggression and a distinctly old-school sense of brutality. Their approach favors directness and physical impact, drawing from the classic Scandinavian death metal tradition while allowing the experience of their veteran members to shape a sound that feels both seasoned and ferocious.

The band released the Origin of Terror single in January 2024 before unleashing their debut full-length, Sculpted by Torture, in May of the same year through Legions of Bane Recordings. Recorded and mixed at Blacklounge Studios, the ten-track album established Nekrodawn's vision of what they describe as “bone chewing” and “no compromise” death metal.
Nekrodawn returned in August 2026 with their second full-length, Covenant of Carnage, released through War Anthem Records. Running nearly 46 minutes across twelve tracks, the album continues the band's savage old-school death metal attack, combining crushing riffs and relentless momentum with the dark, warlike and destructive atmosphere at the heart of their music.
With members carrying decades of experience across some of Sweden's most respected death metal acts, Nekrodawn approach the genre without unnecessary ornamentation: heavy, vicious and unapologetically death metal.
