Biography
Nelson & Djosa are a producers duo from Rotterdam. They have been together since 2004 when they hooked up through a musical friend. Nelson: "I heard Djosa play with his own band while I´d given up on making music after many dissapointing musical ventures. The band was terrible but I liked his approach to music." Djosa: "We met each other at the right time, we were both keen to take things to another level.. After talking about music many hours, we finally hit the studio and it worked out well"
Since then the duo moved to a studio of their own, where they create their music with instruments like the rhodes, an mpc, synths, some software and some guitars. For their recordings the duo works with a range of different vocalists, such as Ntjamrosie, Kofi Anonymous and Franck Biyong to name a few. "We are currently processing all our everyday events into lyrics to finish the recordings for our debut album, soon to be released on Appletree Records, entitled Don´t kill your feelings. It´s gonna sound like the soundtrack of the city, from warm summer red en yellow coloured soulful love stories to winter storm dark expressions of everyday troubles". They also produced Ntjamrosie debut album 'Atouba' which was released in 2008.

Their style of music is difficult to categorize, Nelson explains "We get stereotyped as broken beat, nu-soul or future-jazz, those kind of unspecific nu-genres that are certainly traceable in our music, but our background lies somewhere else, mainly in old music, ranging from Prince-funk eighties electro pop to Jimi guitar reverse soundscapes and then back to Stevie´s addiction to Moog synthlines. At the moment I call it space funk. If you want drop some names, think Stevie Wonder, Jimi Hendrix and Herbie Hancock."
