Biography
Night of the Vampire is a one-man American black metal/darkwave project from Texas, formed around 2021–2022 by the mysterious mastermind Astral Shadow. It fuses raw black metal aggression with 80s-inspired darkwave, gothic rock, deathrock, post-punk, and synth-heavy atmospheres, creating a vampiric, psychedelic, and nocturnal hybrid sound.
Astral Shadow describes the project as “the shadow of the witching hour,” guiding listeners through psychedelic solitude, horror, mysticism, and the haunting chambers of darkness. The music blends harsh, raspy black metal vocals and guitars with prominent, danceable synth lines, gothic melodies, and atmospheric electronics. It draws comparisons to Tribulation (for the gothic/black’n’roll edge), Emperor, Christian Death, Sisters of Mercy, and classic 80s darkwave acts. Themes center on vampires, immortal blood, eternal night, cosmic darkness, loathing, and occult mysticism—often with a gruesome, visceral edge rather than pure romanticism.
