One Of Nine
Biography
One of Nine is a North Carolina-based melodic black metal band from Charlotte, USA, specializing in epic, Tolkien-inspired black metal. They are widely regarded as the most prominent J.R.R. Tolkien / Lord of the Rings-themed black metal act since Summoning.
The name references the Nazgûl (the Nine Ringwraiths), tying directly into their deep immersion in Middle-earth lore—particularly the darker, sorcery-filled aspects involving Melkor/Morgoth, ancient evils, desperate battles, and medieval sorrow. Their music blends majestic, atmospheric black metal with melodic and dungeon-synth elements to evoke grand, sorrowful narratives from Tolkien’s legendarium.
