Pamola materialized in November of 2008. They're part of Maine-based label Rough Draft with Butcher Boy, The Waldos, and Red Medicine. The name is taken from a legendary spirit in Abenaki mythology believed to dwell on top of Maine's highest peak, Mt. Katahdin. The Spirit was part man, part moose, and part eagle. Pamola caused the storms.
