Biography
American artist Panda Bear (Noah Lennox, of Animal Collective fame) and his British musical partner Sonic Boom (Peter Kember, of Spaceman 3 fame) collaborated on the August 2022 album Reset and its July 2026 successor, A ? of When. The latter album was, at least initially, not issued on streaming services, but only in physical formats. As different as they are, both albums are heavily inspired by psychedelic American sixties pop by The Beach Boys and the like and may be regarded as 21st century interpretations of pop sounds from the era.
The Reset album inspired two spin-off albums: Reset in Dub (a dub rework by Adrian Sherwood, 2022) and the Reset Mariachi EP (2024), five mariachi interpretations featuring Mariachi 2000 de Cutberto Pérez.
