Biography

Unfamiliar with the name Peter Raeburn? Well you will certainly be familiar with his work. From the iconic soundtrack to the Guinness ‘surfer’ advert, to his work on ‘Sexy Beast’ and the creation of the sound for Skype, Raeburn has been an integral player in music for feature film, commercials, TV and digital media.

Now the London-based musician and composer is stepping out from behind the scenes to take centre stage with his debut solo album, You and Me. Released on the Nowever Records label, You and Me finds Peter drawing on his wealth of experience as a composer and collaborator to create effortlessly dazzling pop that has a timeless appeal. Traces of his love of Bowie, The Beatles and Pink Floyd ripple across the record, but what strikes you above all is the immediacy and elegance of Peter’s songwriting.

From the candy-striped psychedelia of “Tipsy Delightful” and the title track’s baroque pop, to the spirited choral chant coursing through “Celebrare” – heard on a recent epic Smirnoff campaign – each of the 12 tracks has a distinctive character, shaped by Peter’s attention to detail, his heartfelt lyrics and the warmth of his voice. He calls the album “imperfect but honest – a kind of big, bold step in the right direction”. And as you’d expect from someone whose job is to make things sound incredible, You and Me is exquisitely produced.
