Biography
Polyn is a project by the musicians Aleksey Vanchuk and Sergey Kravchenko aka SK.EIN (Port Mone trio members) who teamed up with Ilya Samokhvalov-Cherepko (Петля Пристрастия and Кассиопея bands). The main idea of this collaboration was to step back from avant-garde, ambient, and post-punk and try to make pop music. However, the work on the debut album was carried out under such circumstances (from the pandemic till the war) that made this pop bitter as gall and seeming to embrace both the past three years and ambient and post-punk.
The debut album 202022 by Polyn presents downtempo about hopelessness. Either an axiety dream, or a traveller's guide to otherworldly Minsk, or a hipster's memorial plate duly made from recyclable materials.
